Why some would choose to begin a new relationship based on lies is beyond understanding. There is absolutely no possible way such a union can achieve success and longevity. Lies in any relationship, when discovered, are difficult to maintain and difficult to accept. If however, there is history between the two involved, a lie could possibly be forgiven because you are familiar with the person who is being deceitful and might be able to understand why the deception may have manifested. Unfortunately this is not the case in a new relationship. When a relationship is built on deception, when discovered, it calls into question everything ever stated or claimed. All credibility the liar had up until then is extinguished along with trust and respect. Any feelings, regardless of how true, will now fall on deaf ears and every word spoken from then on will be challenged. Eventually the energy required to guard our feelings from being betrayed again will wear down the most compassionate person and the relationship will be forced to come to a sad ending.
