Did he chase you? Did he chase you even after you said no? Did he suffer for you? Did it break his heart when he couldn’t have you? Did he wait for you? Did he wait for you to see he’s the one? Does he surprise you? With silly little things no one else would remember? Does he support your dreams? Think of ways to improve when you can’t think anymore? Would he protect you? When you’re in his arms can you feel the beat of his heart? Would he die for you, fight the biggest guy in the bar because he called you a name. Would he hold you? In the middle of the night when you are in physical pain. Would he feed you? When you no longer have the strength to lift your arms? Would he bathe you? When you are tired and unable to move? Would he tell you stories? When you no longer remember your name or his? Did he choose you?
Does he call you? Does he tell you over the phone he was just thinking about you? Does he care? If you said he couldn’t come over would he go somewhere else? Does he bring you gifts? When he comes through your door are his hands as empty as his belly? Does he show up at your events? Pay attention to you or look for what’s better? Does he like your children? Or is he jealous of their success? Does he contribute or ask you how long before he can eat? Does he help you? When you’re standing at the door and your arms filled? Does he satisfy you? Or do you fake the big O?
Every woman wants to know that the man she’s with… wanted her. You know the difference. And no matter how you try to pretend he loves you; inside you know he’s in it for entirely different reasons than yours. He settled for you because he’s a loser – why did you settle for him?
